How to Register
• Credit Cards: We accept credit card payments on-line (through our website) using PayPal, a secure site used for safely transferring money on-line. There is no cost to you for using this service. To pay on-line using your credit card, visit the classes page and click on the Visa/Mastercard "Buy Now" button associated with the class and date you want. You will be taken to the PayPal website where further instructions will be given. You can make an instant payment using your credit card without creating a PayPal account. Once your payment goes through, you will receive an e-mail from us within 5 business days confirming your registration. If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation, or if you sign-up for a class with less than five days notice, please call 818-980-1234 to confirm.
• Check or Cash: If you would like to register for a class and pay with a check or cash, feel free to call us at 818-980-1234 to make sure there is space available. Then, print out the Registration Form and return it to Stitch Café with your payment. A $20 fee will be charged (in addition to the class fee) for any check returned by your bank (for any reason). Please do not mail cash; bring it to the Stitch Cafe with your registration form.
Waiver
Some of our classes involve the use of fire, heat, sharp instruments and other hazardous material. All risks associated with any part of these classes must be fully assumed by the student. Stitch Café, the Artisan Studio, its employees and instructors cannot be held responsible for accidents or injuries. When you register for any class, therefore, you automatically agree to sign our Waiver prior to beginning the class.
Registration Miscellaneous
• Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Prepayment is required at the time you sign-up to reserve your space.
• Feel free to call before mailing your payment to be sure space is available.
If space is unavailable when your payment is received, it will be refunded.
• Many classes fill up in advance, so early registration is recommended.
• To give personal attention, class size is limited to 8 - 12 students,
depending on the class.
• The following contact information is required for all students: Name,
Contact Phone(s) and E-mail.
•Class Cancellations: If enrollment is below the studio minimum of 5
students, the teacher may cancel a class one week prior to the class. If a
class is cancelled, you will be contacted using the phone number and/or e-mail
that you gave when signing up, and will receive a full refund or a credit
for any future class (your choice).
•By registering, you acknowledge that you have read these policies,
and accept all terms described herein, including the refund policy directly
below.
Refund Policy
Because teachers are committed well in advance, we cannot offer refunds for changed or cancelled classes. The following options apply:
• Rescheduling Option: If you register for a class and need to change
the date for any reason, a $10 rescheduling fee will add to the cost of the
class. To exercise this option you must call us at 818-980-1234 at least 7
DAYS IN ADVANCE, but please try to give us as much advance notice as possible. At
the time of cancellation, you may reschedule for the same class either of
the next two times that it is offered, or choose another class within the
next two months.
•Half Credit Option: If you call (818-980-1234) to reschedule within 7 days
of the class but at least 24 hours in advance, you will receive a credit for
HALF of your class fee to use for any available class.
•No Refunds or Credits for No Shows: If you register for a class & do
not call or show up FOR ANY REASON, the entire class fee is NON-REFUNDABLE,
nontransferable, and no future credit will be given - no exceptions.
Teacher Information
Classes are taught by talented and creative individuals and artists from all over the Los Angeles area. Instructor name and website link is provided under the title for each class.
If you have teaching experience and a unique/creative class idea you think would work at The Artisan Studio, please e-mail us with a class proposal, your resume and references.
Class Location
Unless otherwise specified, all classes are held at The Artisan Studio located adjacent to the Stitch Café at 12443 Magnolia Blvd., Valley Village, CA 91607. If you've never been to the Stitch Cafe, please click here for a map.
What to Bring
Some classes have an additional fee for a materials provided by the instructor, while others provide a materials list and require you to purchase materials separately so that you can choose your own. Please read the materials instructions carefully for each class so that you will be prepared. Materials lists should be available by link on the registration page. If your class specifies a materials list, but no link is provided, or if you have any questions, please email the instructor directly.
Minimum Age and Kid's Classes and Parties
Age limits apply to some classes. Please contact us directly before registering students 15 years or under. We occasionally offer classes specifically for those under 18. Check the current Calendar for details.
Private parties/classes may be arranged for groups of 6 to 12. If interested, please contact us as far in advance as possible.
What Not To Bring
As much as we love pets, some people are allergic and afraid of them, so we have to ask that you not bring them. Also, please do not show up for the class with any additional people (that includes babies or small children). Unexpected guests often cause distractions that are not appreciated by paying customers.
